They don’t follow the leaders or the pack. They are contrarians in that they think for themselves. Solve something people NEED or LOVE, don’t make a company for the sake of it.Įntrepreneurs challenge the status quo. Businesses fail because the competition eats them up or there is little demand. But look at the state of them now, including Washio, Homejoy, or many food and grocery delivery apps. On-demand apps were a huge thing a couple years ago. Startups that solve small problems are not following Thiel’s blueprint for disruption.
